What a Macau Sauna Really Costs in 2026: A Line-by-Line Breakdown

Ask what a Macau sauna costs and you’ll never get one number, because the bill is built in layers. Come in only to bathe, eat and rest, and a little over a thousand patacas covers the whole day. Add a service tier and the total clears four or five thousand without trying. That’s why quotes online contradict each other — each writer is describing a different layer. Below is the way we walk our own guests through the 2026 numbers.
The skeleton of the bill
Strip it back and there are three layers plus one variable:
| Layer | Covers | 2026 range (MOP) |
|---|---|---|
| Layer 1 — entry (“clean sauna”) | Baths, sauna, lounge, all-day dining | 1,198–1,299 (East Castle 2,288) |
| Layer 2 — service tier | Entry, selected, popular, premium and top tiers, graded within each | ~2,188–7,499 |
| Layer 3 — add-ons | Ear cleaning, nails, back scrub and similar | a few hundred each |
| Variable — overnight | Depends on the venue | usually inside the entry fee; private rest rooms billed separately |
One caveat before anything else: these are ranges, not fixed prices. The figures above follow the 18 September 2026 price boards. Positioning differs by venue and opening promotions are frequent, so the printed rate and the amount you actually hand over are often two different figures.
Layer one: what entry buys
Entry — the “clean sauna” ticket — opens the baths, sauna, lounge and dining, and as of September 2026 the minimum spend on entry clusters between MOP 1,198 and 1,299: Victoria Sauna and Empire Sauna at 1,198, Batangyu, Shang Pin and Number Nine at 1,199, The Excellent at 1,299. East Castle sits on its own at MOP 2,288 — but that figure already includes a 90-minute full-body massage. Manhao, Majesty and Clube Rio set no minimum spend at all. Taken on its own, this layer is quietly good value: one flat price, proper meals included, a place to rest built in, and a stay of twelve-plus hours is how the model is meant to work, not a loophole. New venues push the threshold lower still — Empire Sauna, which opened this year, runs a simplified price board with entry down at 1,198. Note its fee model changed on 1 September 2026 to a 5% service charge plus a 5% tourism tax on top, so set that ten per cent aside.

Layer two: the tier decides the total
Entry is only the floor. The number that moves the total is the service tier. Venues typically carry several tiers — entry, selected, popular, premium, top — each graded again into levels like A-model, super-model and chief, priced from a little over two thousand for a classic full-body massage up past seven (the ceiling is Batangyu’s themed package at MOP 7,499). The lineup itself is multinational: what you are choosing is a tier, not an origin. Rather than decoding a menu yourself, hand your budget and preferences to your contact; they’ll match a tier to the night and can often hold the most-requested headliners before they’re gone.
While we’re here, one recurring confusion worth killing: the same group of venues appears online under several spellings — “No. 9,” “Nine,” “Ninth.” Different names, identical venues, identical prices. There’s nothing to compare.
Reading the venues: district and vintage
Price band follows positioning. If you want new interiors, a deep bench of themed suites and aggressive launch promos, look at the recent openings — Empire Sauna and Manhao Spa in Taipa both fit, and first-timers usually start there. The long-running houses trade on the opposite virtues: a settled routine and a technician roster regulars already know. Geographically, the Peninsula venues sit close together within reach of every border crossing, while the Taipa side is next to the airport and the resort strip — convenient if that’s where you’re staying. With similar budgets, deciding what the trip is for — novelty, value, or a specific top-tier headliner — settles the choice faster than debating which house is “best.” It’s the first question we ask when we place a guest. Factor the clock in too: The Excellent runs noon to 04:00 and Clube Rio 19:00 to 04:00, so neither takes an all-night finish.
The line items people forget
- Service charge and tourism tax. This splits two ways. At East Castle, Majesty Spa and Clube Rio (10% inside), the figure shown is the figure billed — service charge and tax are inside it; The Excellent Sauna works the same way, with its 5% service charge and 5% tourism tax already inside. Elsewhere they are added on top: Batangyu Sauna, Shang Pin Spa, Number Nine Spa and Victoria Sauna add a 10% service charge, while Empire Sauna and Manhao Spa add a 5% service charge and a 5% tourism tax. Empire deserves a second look: through August its board genuinely was all-in, and the 1 September 2026 board moved it to the add-on model — copy an older write-up and you will be ten per cent short. Only the second group needs building into your estimate.
- Add-ons. Ear cleaning, manicure and pedicure, back scrubs and foot work are billed per item at a few hundred MOP each — order a handful and it becomes its own line. Book through us and two add-on treatments come free — one at East Castle and at Majesty, and Clube Rio runs no add-on menu at all.
- Overnight. Seven houses on the roster run 24 hours with overnight stays, usually already inside the entry fee at no extra charge, and several offer paid private rest rooms on top (East Castle’s private rest rooms are all paid — it has no free one). Manhao (doors close at 06:00), The Excellent (opens at noon and closes at 04:00 — not 24 hours) and Clube Rio (19:00 to 04:00) have no overnight, so keep those three off the end of an all-night plan.
- Dining. The one line you can relax about: steak, seafood, fried rice, noodle soups, soft drinks and beer all sit inside the entry fee.
Timing the visit
- Opening periods bring limited-run promotions — the cheapest window to try a higher tier. Offers rotate, so confirm what’s current when you book.
- Friday and Saturday nights are the crush; the top-tier headliners go first. A weekday, or a booking held in advance, buys you both a better rate and an actual choice.
- Lead with a budget rather than a menu. Your contact fits the tier to that night’s demand and promotions — usually cheaper than picking off the printed rate, and never a wasted trip.
What booking through us removes from the bill
Guests who book through us have the free private shuttle built into the plan: our own seven-seater with a dedicated driver, collecting from the airport, ferry terminals or your hotel, with the return leg arranged in advance — not a street hail. Layer the venues’ rotating promotions on top (always confirm the current offer) and the gap between arranging ahead and paying rack rate at the counter is real money. Send us a budget and you’ll have a same-day quote with the promotions already applied.

FAQ
How much should I set aside? MOP 1,200–1,300 comfortably covers an entry-only visit (MOP 2,288 at East Castle); a full experience with a service tier and add-ons lands most guests between MOP 3,000–6,500, reaching seven thousand at the very top tiers.
Is the printed rate what I’ll pay? Often not. Opening and rotating promotions regularly pull the real spend under the rack rate — which is precisely why asking first pays.
How do I pay? Cash, cards, WeChat Pay and Alipay are accepted almost everywhere; settling the price in advance spares you any counter negotiation.
