Getting to a Macau Sauna: the Free Private Car, Explained

A Macau sauna evening really begins at the border. On holiday evenings the taxi ranks outside the gates and ferry terminals hold the longest queues of the day, and venue plans tend to start after dark — precisely when a cab is scarcest. Our answer is simple: settle the car before you travel, and the queue stops being your problem.
Know your entry point
None of the four main arrival points is far from the venues; the difference is the crowd (all times traffic-dependent):
| Starting point | Taxi-time estimate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Border Gate (Portas do Cerco) | ~10–15 min to the Peninsula | Heaviest foot traffic and the slowest peak-hour queues |
| HZMB port | ~15–20 min to the Peninsula | For arrivals crossing the bridge from Hong Kong or Zhuhai |
| Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal | ~5–10 min to the Peninsula | Where most Hong Kong ferries land; nearest the Peninsula venues |
| Taipa Ferry Terminal | ~10 min within Taipa, ~15–20 min to the Peninsula | Handy for the airport and the Cotai resorts |
Bridges tie the Peninsula to Taipa, so distance is never the issue. Finding a car at peak hour is.
The car, in three steps
When you book through us, a private 7-seater transfer comes included at no charge. The process asks very little of you:
- Tell us the plan. Contact us with your date, party size and pick-up point — border gate, ferry terminal, airport or hotel.
- Receive the details. Vehicle and driver information arrives before you set out; your driver waits at the agreed spot.
- Fix the return. Name a rough leaving time before you go, and the car brings you back to your hotel or the border.
One vehicle, one dedicated driver, door to door. No ride-sharing, no detours, and the whole of the Peninsula and Taipa covered — this is not a street-hailed cab. The shuttle page has the full details.
Already checked in somewhere? The same arrangement applies — your hotel lobby makes the simplest pick-up point of all.
Three questions we hear most
- Will we all fit? Seven seats carry a small group comfortably; larger parties tell us ahead and we run extra cars.
- Plans moved? Message the channel you booked on, as early as you can — adjusting is easy with notice.
- And the ride back? Included. Both legs are covered; agreeing a rough exit time when you arrive keeps it seamless.
Before you board
- Allow an extra half hour for immigration on holiday evenings
- Follow the pinned location we send — arrival points have designated pick-up zones, and the taxi rank is not where your car will be
- Luggage goes straight into storage at the venue; skip the hotel detour
- Big events and bad weather make traffic unpredictable, so pad the schedule
- Stay online throughout so the driver can reach you
New to all this? The first-timer’s guide walks through a full visit, and the price guide covers budgets. Send us a date and a flight or ferry time; we line up the pick-up, the car and the venue — you simply arrive.
