Eight Venues, One Decision: How to Pick in Macau

After the reshuffle that ran into 2026, eight houses on our roster separate most clearly by what they are built for. Seven are saunas — Empire, Manhao, Shang Pin, Number Nine, Majesty, The Excellent and East Castle — and the eighth, Clube Rio, is a business KTV that belongs on the list for a different reason entirely. Guests keep asking us to name the best one. We can’t, honestly — because they aren’t competing on the same axis. One is built entirely around its rooms, one around a catwalk, one around the simple ability to sleep where you are, and one around a private room with a microphone. For the saunas, the most useful split in practice is the clock: five of the seven never close, and two keep closing times. That’s how this guide is organised, with the KTV taking the final word. The table gives you the map; the profiles below fill it in.

On budget, one paragraph covers the seven saunas. The minimum spend on entry clusters between MOP 1,198 and 1,299, the mainstream service tiers sit between 2,500 and 4,500, and the top tiers mostly land between MOP 4,600 and 7,000. The exception is East Castle, whose simplified three-tier menu is quoted all-in (MOP 2,288–6,688 on the 18 September 2026 board) and is the easiest bill to predict. Clube Rio prices like a KTV, not a sauna — see its section below. The day’s quote is always the final word; send us a number and we do the matching.

The 24-Hour Five

Empire Sauna — the room is the product

Empire Sauna opened in mid-May 2026, which makes it the newest house in Macau, styled as modern luxury folded into oriental zen. Everything here funnels into the suite itself: hotel-grade themed rooms, marble baths, the signature water-bed room, butler-style service around it all. The night feels less like a classic sauna visit and more like checking into a boutique hotel. Doors never close, overnight stays are fine, and the bill adds 5% service charge plus 5% tourism tax on top of the menu price. When you book through us, two add-on services come free. Anyone shopping on hardware alone should look here first.

Shang Pin Spa — the one that solves the clock

Shang Pin Spa sits inside Lisboeta Macau in Cotai, ornate and recently fitted out. What actually sets it apart is time: it runs 24 hours, takes overnight guests, and its lounge recliners will carry you through to morning. If the night stretches and a second hotel room feels like a waste, this is the practical answer. The house specialty is the Japanese bubble bath; package promotions rotate, so ask what’s on when you go. For anyone staying at Lisboeta Macau or nearby, no venue in Macau is easier to reach.

Number Nine Spa — a runway with rooms attached

Number Nine Spa occupies the Royal Dragon Hotel in the city centre. It opened in April 2026, ahead of the rest of this year’s newcomers, and its defining feature is a fashion-show stage backed by an LED screen — the selection process is staged, quite literally, as a runway. The rooms are scenario-themed, with lighting and sets that were clearly budgeted for. The menu leans on the upper tiers, and the lineup is multinational. The house is open around the clock and takes overnight guests; the therapists work a 15:00–06:00 shift, which is a separate fact from the opening hours — don’t read the two as one number when you are timing a massage. Book through us and two add-on treatments come free. If atmosphere is the draw and the upper tiers are the direction, stop here.

East Castle Spa — where the scenario room was invented

Macau’s scenario-room genre started at East Castle Spa: prison, classroom, aircraft cabin — more than twenty script-style sets, all included in the room price. That inclusion is the practical difference from The Excellent, where scenario rooms are paid add-ons. The venue sits on the third floor of the Casa Real Hotel, classic styling underneath the theatrics, open 24 hours with overnight stays; for quiet, take a paid private rest room, and the lobby rest area stays open as usual — there is no free private rest room here, so budget that line in. Since July 2026 the menu is a simplified three tiers of full-body massage, and the 18 September 2026 board quotes all of them all-in: aroma (90 min) MOP 2,288, oil (60 min) MOP 3,288–3,888, premium (60 min) MOP 4,988–6,688. The figure shown is the figure billed — service charge and tax are inside it. From MOP 3,288 upward each figure is a base of MOP 2,488–3,688 plus a compulsory per-tier gratuity paid to the therapist (colour +800 / green +1,000 / red +1,500 / pink +2,000 / blue +2,500 / white +3,000), added when the order is placed and required, not discretionary. The MOP 2,288 minimum spend on entry already includes one 90-minute full-body session plus in-house food and drink. Book through us and one add-on treatment comes free — East Castle and Majesty are the only two houses at one.

Majesty Spa — built for groups

Majesty Spa has a claim to the most extravagant interior in the city, and its hall runs an up-close “scenery” selection format. Its real edge is a combination nobody else can assemble: over ten fully built themed rooms — Egyptian, Chinese wedding-bed, gym-and-boxing, wedding, cosplay themes among them — alongside KTV party rooms, which are rare in Macau. The house move is a group taking a room to sing first, then peeling off to their own plans. The figure shown is the figure billed — service charge and tax are inside it. Open 24 hours, overnights welcome. On perks, Majesty and East Castle are the only two houses that give one free add-on rather than two.

The Two With Closing Times

Manhao Spa — the show, in blue

Manhao Spa is in the Grandview Hotel in Taipa, roughly a five-minute drive from central Cotai. Its entire identity fits in one word: the show. No catwalk hall in Macau is larger — open tiers stacked through a wash of blue light, closer to a staged production than anything else in town — and the marble lobby with its mural corridors keeps the regal theme running wall to wall. Rooms are integrated suites pairing a bedroom with a water bed; the red water bed under its spotlight is the house emblem. The one thing to plan around is the clock: 14:00–06:00, and no overnight stays for now. When you book through us, two add-on services come free.

The Excellent Sauna — noon start, short menu

The Excellent Sauna lives in the Grand Emperor Hotel’s main building and keeps hours of 12:00–04:00. A noon opening puts it among the earliest doors in Macau — useful when your free window is the afternoon. The lead offering is a set of newly built Japanese-theme rooms, with scenario rooms — DJ booth, office, cinema — sold as add-ons, so you assemble the visit yourself. It’s deliberately small and deliberately curated. No overnight stays here; if you need to see the sunrise indoors, switch to a 24-hour house such as Shang Pin or Empire.

The Eighth House Isn’t a Sauna: Clube Rio

Clube Rio closes this guide because it answers a different question. Opened at the end of July 2026 on the third floor of the Rio Hotel, it is a nightclub and business KTV, not a sauna — private rooms, a serious sound system, and hostess companions to sing and drink with, running 19:00–04:00. Packages come in three, each priced two ways — WALK IN (spa only) or free-flow (drinks plus spa): Viet-style Model at MOP 3,888 / 4,688, Tang-style Standard at 4,988 / 5,688, Tang-style Model at 5,388 / 6,288, so MOP 3,888–6,288 across the board (18 September 2026 board; the figure shown is the figure billed, with the 10% service charge and tax inside it). The free-flow tier pours Hennessy VSOP, Johnnie Walker Black, Chivas, Budweiser, Blue Girl and soft drinks without limit. When the night calls for entertaining clients or a group that wants a room and a microphone, this is the address the saunas can’t offer. No overnight stays, and none of the sauna add-on menu — though booking through us still includes the free private shuttle.

Deciding, Then Booking

Compressed to one line each: Empire for the rooms, Manhao for the catwalk, Shang Pin for overnights or a Cotai base, Number Nine for the stage, Majesty for the group, The Excellent for the afternoon, East Castle for scenario rooms with a bed at the end, Clube Rio for the client dinner that turns into a singing night. Two more houses have joined the roster since: Batangyu Sauna runs 24 hours with a themed package topping out at MOP 7,499, and Victoria Sauna runs an all-hours Happy Hour — from 1:00 PM to 6:00 AM the next morning, one price covers two therapists, across six listed pairings, MOP 3,998–5,598. Victoria is the only house on the roster that may advertise two-for-one. Every sauna fields a multinational roster, and a meal is effectively part of the entry. Book a sauna through us and three standing perks apply: entry fee waived, free private shuttle anywhere in Macau, and two add-on treatments free — one at East Castle and at Majesty, and Clube Rio runs no add-on menu at all, though the waived entry fee and the free shuttle still apply there. Undecided? Contact us with a budget and a preference and we’ll place you, with the free private shuttle folded into the same arrangement.
