First Night at Yu Sauna Macau: Notes from Opening Day

Yu Sauna Macau — the hot-pool hall
In this article

The car was already waiting when Mr. Zhang, a regular on the Macau circuit, stepped out of the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal at eight in the evening on 26 August 2026. The ride cost him nothing: book through us and pickup covers all of Macau, piers included.

We had asked him to walk a venue that had opened that very day. He had picked his ferry time deliberately; the reason comes later.

The conclusion first: NAPE has a new venue worth a dedicated trip. Here is how his night went.

The front desk on the fourth floor

Ten minutes later: 555 Avenida da Amizade, New Orient Landmark Hotel, lift to the 4th floor. On opening night, Yu Sauna was quieter than expected. Low warm light, timber lattice running the length of the floor, Japanese zen crossed with Chinese detailing. His first impression: “New, but not glaring.”

The desk checked his name and added one line: “Booked through the site, so the entry fee is waived.” Asked which tier, he answered fast: “First visit. Entry package. Let me walk the whole flow once.” He swapped in for a wristband, as one does at any Macau sauna, and headed in.

The essentials, in one place:

  • Address: 4/F, New Orient Landmark Hotel, 555 Avenida da Amizade, NAPE (about 1 km from Fisherman’s Wharf, 2 km from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal)
  • Hours (August 2026): open 24 hours
  • Therapists on shift (August 2026): 13:00 to 06:00 the next morning
  • Book through us: two free add-ons of your choice, free pickup anywhere in Macau, entry fee waived

Into the hot pool first

He didn’t head upstairs after changing. Regulars soak first: warm the body through before the massage and everything after runs smoother.

The hot-pool hall is the heart of the venue: warm light on the water, a moon-gate silhouette behind the lattice screens, generous space around the pool. His first verdict of the night came from the water: “The hall alone is worth the trip.”

Cypress heat, then glass-walled steam

Once he had raised a light sweat he moved to the Japanese cypress dry sauna. Hot cypress gives off its own scent; it was the smell he remembered most from the night.

From there, the lattice corridor: red lanterns strung to the far end, a breather between one heat and the next. At the end of it, the glass-walled steam room picks up where the dry heat left off. Dry, then wet, and the body is properly open.

The lattice corridor with lanterns

Lantern light on dark timber: the corridor is the pause between the two heat rooms.

Two add-ons and a bathtub in the room

One decision before heading up: book through us and two add-ons are free, chosen from back scrub, leg massage, head massage, foot massage, hand massage, manicure, pedicure and ear cleaning. He took the back scrub and the ear cleaning, for practical reasons: “I can’t scrub my own back, and nobody does ear cleaning properly back home.”

The private massage rooms each have their own bathtub, so you rinse before and after without leaving the room. This was also why he picked an evening ferry: an evening arrival keeps the whole night inside the therapists’ shift window.

The bill

His entry package starts at MOP 2,899 on the August 2026 menu; with the 10% service charge the bill came to about MOP 3,189. His verdict: “Not cheap. Nothing wasted either.”

One aside on the minimum spend: the basic sauna entry at MOP 1,299 (August 2026 menu) covers facilities only. Most guests take a package, and that is where the actual experience lives.

ItemPrice (MOP)
Classic full-body massage2,199
Entry packages2,899–3,399
Popular packages3,599–4,899
Premium packages5,599–5,999
Theme package6,999
Double (雙鐘): a second therapist in the same hour999–3,900

All prices take a 10% service charge on top; the entry package at 2,899, for example, settles at about MOP 3,189. These are the August 2026 opening rates — the numbers from that night, left as they were. The venue changed its board on 18 September 2026 and the current range is MOP 1,199 – 7,499; the add-on count and the fee model are unchanged (still plus a 10% service charge, still two free add-ons when you book through us). For the current figures, see the price guide linked below.

A footnote at one in the morning

He sat a while in the dining lounge before leaving, some time after one. What exactly it serves we haven’t verified item by item yet; that note waits for the next visit.

His parting reminder is practical. The venue is open 24 hours, but on the August 2026 roster therapists are on shift 13:00 to 06:00, and those are two different facts. Arrive in the small hours and the facilities are yours; to walk the full sequence, come between afternoon and late evening.

Which brings the night back to where it began: the door never closes, but a complete night still starts with the car waiting at the pier.

FAQ

How do I get to Yu Sauna?

It is on the 4th floor of the New Orient Landmark Hotel, about 1 km from Fisherman’s Wharf and 2 km from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal. Book through us for free pickup anywhere in Macau; contacting us a day ahead makes scheduling easier, though that is a recommendation, not a rule.

When is the best time to go?

The venue is open 24 hours; on the August 2026 roster, therapists are on shift from 13:00 to 06:00 the next morning. An evening arrival keeps the full sequence available.

Which package should I pick?

The entry packages (MOP 2,899–3,399 on the August 2026 menu) are the natural starting point, and most guests end up in the popular band. The basic sauna entry is the minimum spend on entry, facilities only, and rarely the point. For current rates, go by the price guide.

What changes if I book through the site?

Three things: two free add-ons of your choice, free pickup anywhere in Macau, and the entry fee waived. Booking through us means we prioritise your arrival and plan the whole trip around it.
